The โ€œCrankโ€ series, launched in 2006, redefined high-energy action cinema. Directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, Crank followed the intense, heart-racing journey of Chev Chelios, portrayed by Jason Statham. In the first film, Chev is a British hitman living in Los Angeles who is poisoned with a synthetic drug, forcing him to keep his adrenaline levels up or face imminent death. The movie stood out due to its fast-paced action, inventive cinematography, and Stathamโ€™s no-holds-barred performance, alongside Amy Smart as his love interest, Eve. The movie quickly became a cult favorite.

Three years later, in 2009, Crank: High Voltage raised the stakes even further. After surviving his initial poisoning, Chev finds himself kidnapped and his heart replaced with an artificial one that needs regular electric shocks to keep working. The sequel embraced even more absurd, over-the-top action sequences, and the โ€œCrankโ€ franchise solidified its reputation for delivering chaotic, adrenaline-filled entertainment.

Now, 15 years after the last film, Crank 3 is set to bring back the wild, over-the-top action that fans have been craving. Once again directed by Neveldine and Taylor, the film will reunite Jason Statham as the unstoppable Chev Chelios and Amy Smart as Eve, his equally tough and resilient partner.

The New Addition: Dwayne Johnson
One of the most exciting elements of Crank 3 is the addition of Dwayne โ€œThe Rockโ€ Johnson to the cast. Known for his larger-than-life presence and physicality, Johnsonโ€™s involvement in the franchise has raised anticipation for what kind of chaos and intense action sequences the film will deliver. There is speculation that Johnson could be either a formidable ally or a deadly foe to Chelios, which adds a new dynamic to the franchise.
