The first trailer for Train to Busan: Return to Seoul opens with an aerial shot of a desolate and decaying Seoul skyline, overgrown with vegetation and filled with ominous silence. The once-bustling streets are now eerily empty, save for a few scattered figures moving with unnatural jerks. The camera pans down to reveal a fortified checkpoint at the city’s outskirts, where armed survivors cautiously guard the perimeter.

Gong Yoo’s character, Seok-woo, who narrowly escaped Busan years ago, returns, now battle-hardened and determined to find his daughter, who was separated from him during the early chaos. The screen flashes with intense scenes of him making his way through the overrun city, navigating both the undead and the desperate humans who have learned to survive at any cost.

KANG Dong-won’s character, a former soldier with a mysterious past, appears next, leading a group of resistance fighters deep within the heart of Seoul. His stoic expression and commanding presence suggest he is the only one who truly understands the danger they are all facing. “If you’re going back,” he says, looking directly at Seok-woo, “you better be ready for what’s left.”

The trailer quickly cuts to a series of adrenaline-pumping sequences: close-quarters combat with the infected in claustrophobic subway tunnels, a high-speed chase through deserted streets, and a daring escape atop a moving train. The tension escalates with each shot, revealing new threats — faster, more evolved zombies, and a sinister faction that has found a way to control them.

Amidst the chaos, a moment of calm: Seok-woo and the soldier discuss the hope of a cure, hidden somewhere in Seoul’s ruins. But time is running out. The final shot shows the two men staring at an approaching horde of zombies as the screen fades to black, with the sound of a train horn echoing ominously in the background.

The title card appears: Train to Busan: Return to Seoul (2025), followed by a promise: “This time, there’s no escape.”
